I double-dog dare you. #KoreanTaco #Kogi #LAfood #vsco

Night at the Museum

Recently, I spent  some time learning more about Native American and Mexican American cultures at the Riverside Metropolitan Museum.

Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles

We spent an afternoon looking to heaven from Griffith Observatory. Did you know there are 3 heavens? The first heaven is where birds, bugs, and the storm clouds hang tough. The second heaven is where the planets, stars, and aliens roam. (I’m not really sure there are aliens but it’s an interesting thought.) Finally, the third heaven is where God abides and angels sing. And I’m absolutely sure about that one.

Happy New Year

My children were all born in the summer. We didn’t plan it that way. It just sort of happened. Sort of. I was also born in the summer. So It always makes for a memorable season. Once the solstice has reached its end I actually experience something of a newness; of a fresh start. Now that I think of it, the new year for me has never begun on January 1st. It always has been and always will be at summer’s end.

Balboa Birthday

We crossed the harbor from Balboa Island to the Balboa Peninsula by way of auto ferry in celebration of my birthday. It was perhaps the most enjoyable beach trip I have had in years. We didn’t have an agenda or itinerary. We simply laughed over a fire pit while eating grilled meats and vegetables. My children played in the sand and ran from the waves. I didn’t deserve a day so perfect.

Friends, the good folks at tumblr only allow for 10 photos per post. I have many, many more. If you were there that day please inbox me and i’ll be sure to send them your way. Now go tell the one you love how much you adore them. Ciao!

This is for the ones who long for adventure. For the men and women who have grown tired of the office.

This is for those who shutter like butterflies as the A/C breathes cooly on their skin.

Be strong.

It’s a concrete jungle out there.

Editors Note: I took this shot on a mid-morning Monday with my good friend, Levi.

“Summer is alright. It’s a little lonely sometimes. But I have some good times, too.”

“What are the good times?”

“Hangin’ out with Marcella, for sure. Those are the good times.”
